Ann was going to spend another weekend alone. All her friends were out with their significant others or potential bae’s and she was home alone. Again. Much to her chagrin. She had no special person of her own. Frowning she turned on the TV. Maybe she’d watch a show. After five minutes of flipping through channels she came to the sad realization that the only thing on was Say Yes to the Dress. That would definitely not improve her mood.
Her sulking was interrupted by her cat who instead of demanding affection made quite the show of licking her hand. Surprised she rubbed the sweet cat’s fur and pulled him onto her lap. Since she had no one to talk to she may as well talk to her cat.
As she began telling her cat about her loneliness the phone rang. An old high school friend was calling to check in. They chatted away for an hour and made plans to meet up on Sunday. After she hung up the phone she looked down at her cat. Look at that! I’ve got a friend date! Twirling the cat around she pranced into the kitchen to grab a snack.
As she sat down to eat her phone rang again. It was her best friend just calling to see how she was doing. They chit-chatted for over two hours before the first yawn was heard. Glancing to the right, Ann realized it was 12 o’clock. her friend suggested they do breakfast in the morning and maybe a stroll to the farmer’s market. Ann laughed and said it was a date.
After hanging up with her friend she looked down at her cat that had found his way back to her lap and sat gazing up at her. “You know what?” She said with a chuckle. “I’d been complaining to God about how I have no one special in my life. Guess He showed me huh?” Her cat meowed back in response. Laughing, she lifted the fluffy cat, turned off the lights, and went to pick out clothes for her morning date.
