Silent Moon, shining brightly,
Illuminate the path for me.
Shine your light for the one my soul loves.
All day I’ve waited for this.
For your appearance to herald his return.
Long white dress billowing from the wooden doorway,
Dim candles gracing open windows.
For a few precious hours he’ll tarry.
But for those few hours I’d wait a lifetime.
In the morning he’ll return to his post.
Keeping dutiful watch over us all.
I’ll go to work and return to the mundane,
Eyes drifting skyward,
Patiently awaiting that first sliver of moon.

This is lovely. Easy to visualize with your descriptive words, but not overly so. Just beautiful. Also you did a twofer prompt here! Cool.

Thank you. I love when prompts that can work well in more than one piece or in combination. I do a lot of them on my blog.lol
