The Christ that flipped tables I long to be,

but the sufferings of the Savior,

I do not desire.

His thoughts I wish to know,

but His sorrows I will not bear.

I wish to reign with Christ,

but would not die with Him.

I want the crown,

but none of the thorns.

Please,

Lord forgive me,

For ever desiring glory,

But never bearing my cross.

And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”-Luke 9:23 ESV
