“But there’s something about the darkness, the stillness of this hour, I think, that creates a language of its own. There’s a strange kind of freedom in the fark; a terrifying vulnerability we allow ourselves at exactly the wrong moment, tricked by the darkness into thinking it will keep out secrets. We forget that the blackness is not a blanket; we forget that the sun will soon rise. But in the moment, at least, we feel brave enough to say things we’d never say in the light.” “I grieve nothing. I take everything.”
The Omega is gone. Her friends are scattered at best, dead at worst. Juliette is now left standing next to the one man she never dreamed could be an ally. But that’s exactly who Warner is. Book 3 of the Shatter Me series was just, amazing. I was so worried that this book wouldn’t be as good as the first two that I wrestled about reading it. I waited three days. Three. Days. I burned through this book in hours. I needed this story. I breathed this story. Warner. Ugh, this man. His love for Juliette is a passion that burns, that sears, ugh! I love it when the leading man just stands back and allows his leading lady to lead. He encourages her, gives her the reins and sits back. Content to watch her set the world on fire or heal it, either way he’s just happy to be there. Sigh. I love this man.lol
There are too man.
Loved Juliette’s growing ability to control her powers.
Great character growth for several of the characters.
Strong characters, no devolving over here!
Great action scenes and sequences, well described without being too wordy.
The angst between Juliette and Warner…*sigh*.
Adam. This man is a wet blanket on a cold, rainy day. WE GET IT, you’re mad. It’s fine, move on.
Triggers: violence/bloody/allusions to sex
Overall: Five Stars
Closing thoughts: This book topped the first two for me, it was just that good. I loved it and enjoyed it. Its a book that’s stayed with me. It randomly pops up in my mind (a great sign for a book!). Warner’s earnestness, his love for Juliette. I could read about about him just talking about his feelings, oh, wait. Tahereh wrote about that ;).
Let me know if you give this book a chance. Ignite Me is book 3 of 6. Check out the author Tahereh Mafi.
Alright folks, that’s it!
