She wanted to tell him the things he wanted to here.
She knew he wanted to hear that this trip hadn’t been a waste, that she was more in love with him than ever before, that he was still the love of her life.
As they neared the rocky cliff base she started to descend, mesmerized by the light between the two ridges; she heard him calling out for her, she heard his fear, his frustration, he was worried for her safety; she worried that if she stayed with him, she’d never actually live, that she’d never see the light betwixt the rocks.

could we ever be choked by too much love or would we feel the weight of obsession? I was torn between feeling both in your story.

Interesting take! I think it can be a bit of both. You love someone, so you want the best for them. But sometimes, the best expression of love is to step back a little and let the person try something. Be supportive, but not overbearing.

it’s hard to step back and just let them be and time heal but you are right we have to do that sometimes. Loving someone is wanting their happiness even if we are not part of it.
